Hello, anyone there?
You guys, I’m back. I still exist. And I’m so, so sorry that I haven’t checked in on the blog through this whole moving process. But it happened, we live in South Dakota again!
Let me fill you in on the past few months:
In February and March, we traveled to SoDak a couple of times to look at houses. We ended up making an offer on a house we’d only seen over FaceTime 😳 We. Felt. Wild. Thankfully, it’s not a stinker.
Then came the joy of selling our house in Colorado. I tell you what, maintaining a clean house with two little ones will test a lady. The house sold in two weeks, which turns out, is about my limit on keeping a house clean.
At end of March and beginning of April, I was packing. And packing. And when I wasn’t packing, I was thinking about packing. Then came moving day, which would have been a nightmare without Josh’s parents, aunt, and uncle. A million thank yous for all of their help. One big trailer, a POD, and two small u-Hauls later, we were loaded up and saying goodbye to Colorado.
The next few weeks were spent living with my parents and Josh’s parents before we closed on the new house. Let me just tell you, this time went by faster than expected. It was pretty neat that Quinn & Wyatt got to spend so much time with their grandparents, and I greatly appreciated (understatement of the year) having extra hands to help me with the kids. I should also add that March and April were not the best months for us health-wise. Between nasty colds, two more battles with mastitis for me, bronchitis for Wyatt, and a terrible stomach bug for Quinn, we just couldn’t stay healthy. We were in good hands with our families though ♥️
That brings us to the beginning of May, when we finally closed on the new house. Again, our families were their usual amazing selves and had all of our possessions unloaded in record time. Two hours people, two hours is all it took for them to unload everything. Goodness, they are the best.
But my story doesn’t end there, next I decided to throw Quinn a birthday party the week after we moved in. What can I say, I like a challenge. Quinn turned four a couple of days after we moved out of our house in April and I didn’t want the occasion to get lost with the move, so I planned a belated bash. Mom-guilt will make you do crazy things.
We had such a fun day though, it was totally worth all the work. Quinn is one special little girl, who impresses me with her wit and wisdom everyday.
Now we’re finally settling into the new house and we are having fun reconnecting with friends and seeing family way more often. And that, my friends, has been terrific.
Somewhere in the moving process, my baby boy turned into a big boy.
I can’t deal with this. Why is he so cute? And please tell me his wrist rolls are going to stay forever. Oh no. I just realized I’m going to be that mom. He’s going to be so embarrased when I squish his cheeks in front of his friends when he’s a teenager, isn’t he? Don’t answer that.
Moving on.
I have one more very exciting bit of information to share with you:
My sister is getting married! In July! I’m so excited!!
This summer is going to be a happy one.
I do believe that catches you up on the happenings of the last few months of my life. I’m looking forward to slower times and getting back to blogging. But, I need your help. What kinds of posts would you like to see from me? I can’t promise that I’ll be posting as much as I used to, so I want to make sure I’m bringing you what you want. What kinds of recipes are you looking for? Healthy? Fast? Indulgent? And should Friday Favorites continue? Let me hear it!
Have a great weekend, friends! It’s great to be back 😊
