👋🏻2017, it was nice knowing you. A year that brought me a sweet little boy, a celebration of 10 years of marriage, and a million laughs with my little girl. I’m entering the new year with a lot of goals. Goals like being present, enjoying the moment I’m in, laughing more, and worrying less. I want to read as many books as possible, sketch, paint, and bake more. Those things all make me happy. I can’t wait to see what new year brings. Hello, 2018!
But wait, before I get too ahead of myself, let’s take a look back at the recipes that 2017 brought us. I love looking through my year-end blog stats to see what you all viewed the most. It gives me great insight into what you all love. It also helps me figure out what direction to take my blog. Thanks for tuning in and motivating me to keep on bakin’ 👩🏻‍🍳
Time to take a look at Spoonful of Sugar’s most popular recipes of the year!
Honorable Mention: One Bowl Vanilla Cupcakes with Vanilla Buttercream
I know this is a top 10 list, but I had to throw #11 in the mix, because I just love this recipe so much. Aren’t these cupcakes darling?
Now, let’s begin…
10. Funfetti Donuts
We’re starting off this list right with these festive donuts. A party for your mouth! (FYI, I like any list that involves sprinkles.)
One of the simplest recipes ever. And simply irresistible.
8. Mini Brownie Bottom Cheesecakes
I’m having flashbacks to a pregnant me squatting in front of the fridge, eating one of these bad boys at record speed, hoping that Quinn or Josh wouldn’t walk in and catch me. Not my proudest moment (but kind of impressive). Thank goodness for maternity pants.
Wait, does this mean you guys like cheesecake? I knew we could be friends. You’re my kind of people.
6. Carrot Cake
“Oh yeah, that’s real nice.” I believe those are the words that came out of my mouth after the first bite of this cake.
Zesty and buttery and pretty.
4. Angel Food Cake with Strawberry Sauce
A dreamy cake that absolutely deserves a high-ranking spot on this list. I declare that this cake is a winner!
I could go for a warm brookie right about now.
2. Irish Apple Cake with Vanilla Cream Sauce
You guys surprised me with this one! It’s really a beautiful cake, simple and classic and delicious.
1. Cinnamon Roll Braided Bread
YES!!!!! This bread won by a landslide. Landslide, I tell you. And I’m pleased as punch that it won. This bread was my favorite things to make this year and is an inspiration for 2018. I am excited to hone my bread making skills in the new year!
Thank you for following my baking adventures in 2017! Let’s make 2018 even more delicious!
Happy New Year 🎊
