Ingredients
- Bread
- 1 1/2 cups AP flour
- 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon lemon zest
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Glaze
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1-2 tablespoons water
Instructions
Bread
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and lightly flour a loaf pan.
- Mix the flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the milk, sugar, butter, eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla together.
- Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 40-50 minutes, until the center of the bread is fully cooked.
- Remove from oven and cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire cooling rack.
Glaze
- Mix the glaze ingredients together and pour over the slightly warm bread. Enjoy!
