A fresh and light bread that is sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. Enjoy for breakfast or as a treat!
Ingredients
  • Bread
  • 1 1/2 cups AP flour
  • 2 tablespoons poppy seeds
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted and slightly cooled
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1-2 tablespoons water
Instructions
Bread
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and lightly flour a loaf pan.
  2. Mix the flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk the milk, sugar, butter, eggs, lemon juice, lemon zest, and vanilla together.
  4. Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into your prepared pan and bake for 40-50 minutes, until the center of the bread is fully cooked.
  6. Remove from oven and cool in the pan for a few minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire cooling rack.
Glaze
  1. Mix the glaze ingredients together and pour over the slightly warm bread. Enjoy!

Mix the dry ingredients together: flour, poppy seeds, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Whisk the wet ingredients together: milk, sugar, butter, lemon juice, lemon zest, eggs, and vanilla.

Combine the wet and dry ingredients. Pour into a greased and floured loaf pan. Bake for about 45 minutes until the center is fully cooked.

Remove from oven and cool in pan for a few minutes before carefully removing from pan and placing on a wire cooling rack.

Mix the glaze ingredients together until smooth. Pour over slightly warm bread. Enjoy!
