Ingredients
- 1 Sheet of Puff Pastry, thawed according to package directions
- Jam, a couple of tablespoons (strawberry or raspberry work well)
- About 6 strawberries, sliced
- 1 Egg, for an egg wash
- <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span></span><span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”” data-mce-bogus=”1″>Nutella</span></span>, about 1/4 cup</span>
Instructions
- <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span></span><span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”” data-mce-bogus=”1″>Preheat</span></span> oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with a <span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”a ” data-mce-bogus=”1″>nonstick</span> liner.</span>
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut out hearts from the puff pastry. Place on baking sheet.
- <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span></span>Use a knife to gently indent a border inside the hearts (about 1/4″ <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”4 ” data-mce-bogus=”1″>in</span></span>). Do not cut all the way through. Cutting this border allows the edges of hearts to puff up nicely when they are baked.</span>
- Spread a little jam onto each heart, leaving the edge border bare.
- Place strawberry slices in a heart shape on top of each heart.
- Brush the edges with egg wash.
- <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span></span>Bake in preheated oven for about 10 minutes, until the edges have puffed up and turned golden brown. (Bake time is dependent on how large your hearts are. <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span class=”hiddenGrammarError” pre=”” data-mce-bogus=”1″>Mine were</span></span> about 3″)</span>
- <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span></span>Remove from oven. Melt the <span class=”mceItemHidden” data-mce-bogus=”1″><span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”the ” data-mce-bogus=”1″>Nutella</span></span> in the microwave until it becomes spreadable (I microwaved mine in 15-second intervals, for a total of 30 seconds). Drizzle the <span class=”hiddenSpellError” pre=”the ” data-mce-bogus=”1″>Nutella</span> over each heart. Enjoy within a day of making.</span>
Notes
I refroze my leftover puff pastry to use for another time. Just place in an airtight bag and freeze.

Cut out your hearts.

Use a knife to gently make a small border inside the hearts.

Spread on some jam.

Place sliced strawberries on each heart.

Brush with egg wash and bake in a 400 degree oven for about 10 minutes (bake time depends on how big your hearts are).

Warm up some Nutella until it is easy to drizzle over the hearts (about 30 seconds). Eat up!
This little munchkin gives these hearts a big thumbs up.
