Friday Favorites

Greetings! I hope this post finds you well. This week seemed to fly by and I’m totally ok with that. I so look forward to the weekends when Josh is at home, when the adults outnumber the toddler and things seem to go smoother (we have until July until that all changes 😳).

That smile 🙂

I’m hoping to get some meal and snack prep done this weekend, that always helps out during the week. Plus, with the way I’ve been snacking lately, it’s much better to have healthy snacks prepped and ready for consumption or else I find myself eating handfuls of chocolate chips from the cupboard (I’m looking at you, milk chocolate chips, you delicious little morsels). Or on days like yesterday, I find myself eating a piece of angel food cake. That seems normal, right? Ohhhhhhhh, but let me assure you that it wasn’t. Because I ate that big ol’ slice of cake with my bare hands. No shame in my pregnancy game.

Favorite Breakfast: Veggie Packed Freezer Ready Breakfast Sandwiches. Ok! Who doesn’t want a quick and healthy breakfast?

Favorite Fashion: Maternity Capsule Wardrobe. I’m still squeezing into my old jeans, but I can tell that will all change in the next few weeks. I have a few good pieces of maternity clothing from when I was pregnant with Quinn, but I need to add some warm weather clothes to the mix (something I didn’t quite need with my April 11 baby). I don’t want to go overboard with buying a new wardrobe, so I love the simple and classic suggestions from this capsule wardrobe. There are so many great mix-and-match pieces!

Favorite Chicken: Thai Cashew Chicken. If a recipe has cashews in it, you can count me in.

Favorite Revamp: Closet Makeover. What a fabulous transformation!

Favorite Chocolate: Clean Mocha Chocolate Chip Scones. Gimme that chocolate!!!

Favorite Goal: 1000 Books Before Kindergarten. I was excited to discover this program that encourages early childhood literacy earlier this week. Our local library offers the program and I’m excited to get started (check out the website to see if your library is involved, some offer reward systems!).

Favorite Toddler Food:  Top 10 Kid-friendly Wraps. Kid-friendly = Melissa-friendly, because I eat like a toddler 87% of the time.

Favorite Fitness: 10 Yoga Poses You Should Do Every Day. My energy was down, down, down in the first trimester and I know that had a lot to do with my lack of exercising (and, you know, growing a human inside my belly). I’m slowly adding a little more activity to my days in hopes that my energy returns. And yoga does wonders for all the body aches.
