Serves: 2
These beauties taste like just like apple crisp and are perfect for a date night at home.
Ingredients
  • 3 extra large apples (I used a Jonagold for the shells and a Pink Lady for the filling)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • Crumb Topping
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup oatmeal
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Peel and dice up one apple. Sauté the apple in butter with the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt for about 8 minutes, until the apple is tender.
  3. Slice off the tops of the other two apples and use a spoon to carefully scoop out the insides, leaving a bit around the edges of the apples. Discard the insides and tops of the apples. Place the apples in a small baking dish.
  4. In a small bowl combine all of the crumb topping ingredients except for the butter. Once the ingredients are combined, cut in the butter until the mixture begins to crumb together.
  5. Fill the scooped out apples with the apple filling and pile the crumb topping over the top. There is a lot of crumb topping, but pile it up as high as you can.
  6. Bake in preheated oven for about 15 minutes, the crumb topping should be a light golden brown. Enjoy!
