These. These brownie bites are the fudgiest, most divine little drops of chocolate. Chocolate-lovers rejoice! (But I should warn you now, they are highly addictive.)
Fudgy Brownie Bites Printer-Friendly Recipe
From: Spoonful of Sugar
Makes: About 20 bites
Ingredients
Your favorite batch of fudgy brownies (these are my absolute favorite)
2 cups of milk or semi-sweet chocolate chips
2 heaping tablespoons of shortening (Crisco)
About 1/2 cup of mini chocolate chips for garnish
Directions
Bake brownies and allow them to cool completely. Crumble the brownies into a bowl. Make sure the brownies are pretty well crushed up, but a few chunks are ok (really, biting into little bits of the brownie crust is amazing). Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with nonstick liner (this makes the clean-up process easier). Use a cookie scoop (I used a 1″ scoop) to scoop out balls of the brownies and place on prepared sheet. Pop the brownie pan into the freezer for 1 hour to chill.
When the brownies are chilled, prepare the chocolate coating. Place the chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 15-second increments, stirring in between, until the chips are melted and smooth. Use two forks to dip the brownie bites, one at a time, into the melted chocolate. Tap off excess chocolate and place back on sheet. Immediately top with mini chocolate chips (the chocolate will harden quickly, so work fast so your chips will stick). Continue until all of the brownies are coated and topped. Now dig in and enjoy!
***You could easily poke a stick into each of the brownies bites before you freeze them, then you’ll end up with a brownie pop. Less mess for your fingers when you eat them!
