Hello! Here’s a recipe that I go to time and time again. Slow cooker applesauce is extremely easy to make. I love making a big batch and freezing the applesauce in single-serving containers for an easy snack for Quinn. Easy, healthy, sweet, and satisfying!
Slow Cooker Applesauce Printer-Friendly Recipe
Makes about 3 cups of applesauce
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 6-8 hours
Ingredients
1 Tablespoon of unsalted butter
4-8 Sweet apples (4 if you are using large apples, 8 if you are using small apples), I used 4 Jumbo Honeycrisp Apples
1 Cinnamon stick
Directions
Place butter in a slow cooker set on low heat. Allow the butter to melt and spread coat the bottom of the slow cooker (you can speed up the process by melting the butter in the microwave first). Wash, peel, core, and slice apples (thick slices are fine). Put apples in the slow cooker and add the cinnamon stick. Cover and cook for 6-8 hours, until the apples are tender. Mash the apples to desired consistency with a fork. Place in individual containers or a large jar. The applesauce freezes well, too. Just take out of the freezer and thaw in the fridge overnight before serving. Enjoy!
