Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a great start for you. We wrapped up our fourth Christmas celebration today and are heading back to Denver tomorrow morning. It has been such a wonderful time back in South Dakota and Iowa with family.
But alas, the trip is over and back home we go. Let’s hope the little munchkin is a happy traveler tomorrow.
Have a wonderful weekend, all. Time for Friday Favorites!

Favorite Appetizer: The Ultimate Mediterranean Appetizer Platter. Who wants to have an appetizer party? I do, I do!
Favorite Star: DIY Wooden Star. My parents have a pretty wooden star like this that I’ve admired for a few years now. This plan looks easy enough. Josh, add this to the list of things to make. Please and thank you 🙂
Favorite Breakfast: Baked Oatmeal Casserole. A healthy start to the day and a healthy start to the year.
Favorite Sparkle: Celebration Play Dough. Because even play dough should sparkle.
Favorite Frosting: 5-Minute Chocolate Buttercream Frosting. Only 5 minutes stand between you and a mouthful of buttercream frosting.
Favorite Kitchen Storage: DIY Kitchen Jar Shelves. Major kitchen storage envy.
Favorite Spicy Supper: Enchilada Pie. Ohlala, this looks amazing.
Favorite Hot Cocoa: 18 Delicious Ways to Get Out of a Hot Chocolate Rut. ‘Tis the season for hot cocoa.
Favorite Soup: French Onion Soup. This soup needs to get in my belly.
Favorite Guide: Beginner’s Guide to Essential Oils. I’ve been thinking about trying out some essential oils. Mainly so I’m not such a creaky, tired lady anymore. Are any of you essential oil enthusiasts? Any favorites that you use?
Favorite Chicken: Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole. Fantastic! I will be making this, for sure.
Favorite Clean: How to clean a washing machine. Wait, you’re supposed to wash your washing machine? 🙂 Probably a good idea (especially since I just started washing cloth diapers in ours…)
Favorite Sweet: Banana Nutella Bread Pudding. I would devour this bread pudding.
Favorite Car Activities: 101 Toddler Activities for a Road Trip. We are certain to use some of these ideas tomorrow! (There have been certain points in our driving in the past week where singing “Jingle Bells” was the only way to calm Quinn down. And a lady can only sing “Jingle Bells” so many times.)
Happy weekend!
