It’s Friday! And you know what? That makes me happy. It also makes me happy that I am finally kicking this cold. Seriously, it’s been a week and half of congestion and I. AM. SICK. OF. IT. Yesterday was the first day in a week where I felt like a functioning human being. Oofta. But enough of that. I am jazzed for a weekend of fun. How about you?
Let’s first rewind to last weekend…Halloween! We had a cute pumpkin in our house.
We started off our evening by going to a Halloween party hosted by some friends a couple of blocks away. It was fun! I thought we would be back before the trick-or-treaters came around, but as we rounded the corner of our block, I saw a steady stream of them making their way to our house. OH NO!!! Cue me running down the street like a mad woman, wagon in tow, waving my arms and yelling “I live there!” and “We have candy!” As I got closer I heard a little girl say “They don’t celebrate the holiday!” as she and a group of kids walked away disappointed. By the time I got to the house, I was huffing and puffing. A couple of parents were standing in the street and reassured me they would swing by on the way back. You guys, I’m sure I impressed them all. I might be that weird neighbor now. After I caught my breath and Josh and Quinn caught up with me, we handed out candy to the rest of the kids that came our way. It wasn’t exactly smooth sailing from there, at the very end of the evening, Quinn decided she did not like that we were giving out candy to random kids and started crying uncontrollably. So that’s when our little pumpkin went to bed and we shut the lights off for the evening. 🙂 Halloween. What an adventure.
I think this weekend should be a bit calmer than the last. I’ll be baking up some fall desserts that I can’t wait to share with you! For now, let’s kick off the weekend with my Friday Favorites!

Favorite Recycling Project: 25 Ways to Reuse K-Cups. Love me some K-Cups, hate me some trash. This list includes some great ways to reuse those little plastic cups, and it definitely has my wheels turning to come up with more ideas.
Favorite Bars: Apple Crisp Blondies. Wowie, wow, wow.
Favorite Vest: Quilted Puffer Vest at J.Crew Factory. This vest! I’ve had my eye on this vest for so long, I didn’t think it would still be available. BUT IT IS!!!
Favorite Breakfast: Autumn Harvest Quiche with bacon, sage, squash, & mushrooms. Now this is my kind of quiche!
Favorite Centerpiece: Last Minute Thanksgiving Centerpiece. Simple and perfectly elegant.
Favorite Toddler Food: Veggie Faces. A fun way to trick a toddler into eating vegetables. Sneaky, sneaky.
Favorite Pumpkin Project: Canning Jar Ring Pumpkin. So very cute. (It would also be cute to paint the rings a muted orange shade.)
Favorite Cheesecake: Cheesecake Factory Copycat Pumpkin Cheesecake. Cheesecake is my weakness.
Favorite Funny: The “Hey Jimmy Kimmel, I Told My Kids I Ate All Their Halloween Candy” bit. Always funny.
