Halloween Cupcakes

October 25, 2015 by Melissa

With Halloween just around the corner, I thought I should get my sweet tooth ready for all of the candy that is to come.  What better way to prepare myself than cupcakes?  Here are 3 different ways to decorate Halloween cupcakes!

063Start by making cupcakes and frosting.  You can use a boxed cupcake mix and premade frosting or use your favorite recipes for each.  I love this recipe for easy chocolate cupcakes and this delicious cream cheese frosting recipe.  Bake the cupcakes & allow them to cool before frosting.

Now, on to the decorating.

To make the candy corn cupcakes, you simply need to arrange candy corn on top of your lightly frosted cupcakes:

047For the pumpkin cupcakes, lightly frost the tops of the cupcakes.  Dip the frosted cupcakes into a bowl of orange sprinkles.  Then insert a piece of pretzel in the center of the cupcake (this is the stem of the pumpkin). Last, use the back of a knife to make the ridges in your pumpkins:
