Do you know what day it is? Friday. Yep, it’s Friday. We’ve settled back into the routine of things after being back in Iowa & South Dakota for 10 days. You guys, it was such a nice trip. We spent lots of time with family and I even got to meet up with a few friends. It was a jam-packed trip, but well worth it. Some of the highlights were celebrating my sister & niece’s birthdays, having dance parties with Quinn and my parents, visiting Josh’s parents’ farm, catching up with a few friends from college and a friend from my hometown, going to the zoo, and eating a ton of delicious food!
I need to plan our next trip back, because it’s always a fun thing to look forward to! And here’s a tip to any of you traveling by airplane with toddlers: stickers are a lifesaver. Seriously, between stickers and snacks, Quinn was completely content sitting on my lap for the hour and a half we were on the plane. She also sang and clapped for herself a lot, which amused the people next to us (what a little ham).
Now for the long weekend, I think I’ll get caught up with some crafty stuff, spend some time baking, and spruce up our basement. Our new couch was delivered this week, so I’m looking forward to making our downstairs living area more inviting and less dungeonlike. 🙂
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend! May it be a fond farewell to summer, filled with fun and relaxation. Let’s kick the whole thing off with Friday Favorites!

Favorite Fun Treat: Mini Chocolate Chip Muffins. I just know Quinn will love these (she had her first taste of chocolate a few weeks ago and boy, did her eyes get BIG).
Favorite Line: Pioneer Woman’s new kitchen collection. The Pioneer Woman (or as we call her in our house, P-Dubs) has come out with an affordable and adorable kitchen collection. Love, love, love! Country chic is my taste.
Favorite Spice: Homemade Pumpkin Spice Creamer. It’s September and it’s time to eat and drink all things pumpkin. It’s the only time of year when people don’t look at you like you’re crazy for talking about pumpkins all the time (not that I’m speaking from personal experience or anything…).
Favorite Fresh: Grapefruit Sugar Scrub. There’s nothing more invigorating for your skin than a good sugar scrub; and adding grapefruit to your scrub will make it even more refreshing!
Favorite Chicken: Spinach Stuffed Chicken Breasts. A simple dish for a healthy weeknight supper. I bet it would go lovely with some Parmesan roasted potatoes!
Favorite Fashion: The Baseball Tee. This is my kind of look! It’s casual and perfect for fall (I know, I know, it’s still 80 degrees outside, but I can’t help but get excited for one of my favorite seasons).
Favorite “Don’t Go Away, Summer!” S’mores Skillet Cookie Cake. I’ll pause my excitement for fall, because it is still S’mores season. Although, with a recipe like this, any season can be S’mores season. (Thankfully)
Favorite Footwear: Boots! Ok, back to autumn. IT’S ALMOST BOOT SEASON! And it’s a good thing, because I really never got my feet ready for sandals. Yikes. Don’t look.
Favorite Sandwich: Croque Monsieur. All of the cheese. All. of. it.
Favorite Fitness: 30-Day Summer Abs Challenge. Of course, I never got my abs ready for summer either. It’s never to late to see if I have abs hiding somewhere though, right?? 🙂
Favorite Taste of Fall: Caramel Apple Pecan Pull Apart Muffins. How amazing do these look?!
Favorite Easy DIY: DIY Fabric Mouse Pad. My mouse pad has seen better days. I love this DIY, it’ll really spruce up my desk.
Favorite Weeknight Meals: Fifteen Easy One Pot Meals. These are the kind of meals that I love. Easy and only one pot. Because the worst thing about cooking is cleaning up afterwards. The worst.
Favorite Footballs: Game Face Football Cookies. As Josh has so happily reminded me, it’s football season. 🙂 Time to bring out the jerseys and settle in for weekends filled with football food. I think I’ll bake up a batch of the cute cookies to celebrate!
Have a happy Friday and a fantastic Labor Day weekend!!
