Friday Favorites

May 15, 2015 by Melissa

It’s Friday and I’m super excited.  Do you wanna know why?  Do ya?  We’re going on vacation tomorrow!!!  My parents, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces, Josh, Quinn, & I are all headed to sunny Florida for a belated celebration of my parent’s 40th Anniversary.  Hooray!  It will be a whole week of fun!

This little girl is about to find out how fun vacations are.

I’ll be taking the next week off from blogging, but will return soon after with pictures from our Florida adventure.  I hope you all have a fantastic week!  I’ll leave you with my favorite things from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites.  Now, I suppose I should finish packing…

Favorite Appetizer: Potato Salad Bites.  What a nifty idea; they would be a hit at any summer party!

Favorite Vacation Fashion: These T-shirts.  We threatened my parents that we would make these for the trip…so hilarious!

Favorite Bars: Healthy No Bake Triple Peanut Butter Bars.  Ummm, yum.  I’d love to sink my teeth into one of these (healthy) bars.

Favorite Phone Case: Wooden Geo Aqua iPhone 6 Slim Case from Society6.  I’m on a quest to find the perfect case for my new phone (happy Mother’s Day to me!).  This website has a ton of cute cases, including this one:

Favorite 30 Minute Meal: Ground Turkey Sweet Potato Skillet.  Now doesn’t this look tasty?

Favorite Mosquito Repellent: Natural Repellents.  With warmer weather, here come the mosquitoes (boo).  But I’m thinking a few planters with some of the below plants would help keep them away.

Favorite Flavor: Smoked Sausage and Red Rice Skillet.  I made a cheesy pasta with smoked sausage in it last weekend (a-mazing, link here), so now I’m all about smoked sausage dishes.  This skillet sounds delicious!

Favorite Fold: Three Pocket Fold Napkin Tutorial.  Because I want my napkins to be fancy…

Favorite Cookies: Twix Cookies.  Twix cookies look even better than Twix candy bars.

Favorite Stand: DIY 3-Tier Dessert Tray.  I searched for a 3-tier dessert tray for Quinn’s birthday party but just couldn’t find the right one.  I love this tutorial, now I just need to find the perfect plates to make one!  (P.S. This tutorial is in Swedish, but includes an English translation)

Favorite Chicken: Baked Caprese Chicken.  Fresh, light, and oh-so simple.  I love all things basil and tomato in the summertime.

Favorite Scrub: Coffee Sugar Scrub Cubes.  How invigorating do these sound?  I’d need to buy a few ingredients to make it, but I think it’d be worth it (and it would make a great gift to others).

Favorite Breakfast: Waffled Churro French Toast Sticks.  BREAKFAST IS MY FAVORITE!  Seriously, waffle sticks are where it’s at.  And this recipe is way easier than you might imagine.

Favorite Funny: The Best of “Next Week on Mad Men.”  I’m so sad that the series finale of Mad Men is happening in just a couple of days.  I’m even more sad that the “Next Week on Mad Men” clips at the end of the show are done forever.  They always gave me a good chuckle.
