It seems like just yesterday I was wobbling around with a watermelon-sized belly…
Do I look like I had just been crying? Ding, ding, ding…you are correct. Let me take you back to the afternoon of April 10, 2014. Josh & I made our way to the much-anticipated 39-week appointment to find out if we would be meeting our baby girl before her April 15 due date. Long story short, we found out that Quinn was breeched and a C-section was in our future. Like, in the next 24 hours. I was a mess. A big, puffy mess (of course, I decided to capture that moment with the photos above). After phone calls to family and my boss (you know, to let her know I was ducking out of tax season a little early), I put on my big girl pants and prepared for the next day.
We were ready to meet our little Quinn. The baby we waited so long for. She was finally going to be here.
All of the nerves, all of the tears, all of the waiting was over; at 10:44am, April 11, 2014, I became a mom!
Quinn Dorothy Clark, my little girl. The special love I have for this little girl is immeasurable. I just can’t get enough of her. And I’m fortunate enough to spend every day with her (I haven’t been away from her for more than 3 hours at a time since she was born). It’s been the most challenging, but best year of my life. This sweet, silly, and sassy little lady makes me so happy.
So of course, as her first birthday rolled around, I went into full party planning mode. The planning somehow came together and we had a splendid day! Want to take a look? Here was Quinn’s first birthday, as told by the photos!
We woke the birthday girl up with balloons!
The food and the details
There it is, we made it! We can’t wait to see what’s in store as Quinn enters the land of Toddlerhood…cue scary music. Dun dun dun!
Thanks to my parents & Josh’s grandparents, Howard, & Lily, for all the help they gave us on the big day! We couldn’t have done it without them, seriously! And thank you to all who celebrated the day with us, far and near!!
