Friday Favorites

August 1, 2014 by Melissa

Well folks, August is here.  For me, that means I’m adding another candle to the birthday cake of life this weekend.  To celebrate (or take my mind off being older), we are heading to Estes Park for a mini-family vacation tomorrow.  It will be our first night away from home with Quinn since she was born, so hopefully she does well!  Fingers crossed on that one.  I’ll give you all an update next week. 🙂

I’m off now to pack everything but the kitchen sink for our trip, but first I’ll leave you with Friday Favorites.  Have a wonderful weekend, all!!

Favorite Dip: M&M Brownie Batter Dip.  I want to faceplant into this dip.

Favorite Plants: 22 Hard to Kill Houseplants.  Blame it on the dry and scorching temps on our deck or blame my lack of a green thumb, but I just CANNOT keep plants alive.  A hard to kill houseplant is exactly what I need.

Favorite Breakfast: Pancake Mini Muffins.  Wouldn’t these be fun to make for house-guests?!

Favorite Yarn Project: {DIY} How to Make a Yarn Wrapped Ombre Monorgrammed Letter.  This might be difficult to do with a “Q,” but I like a good challenge.  Challenge accepted!

Favorite Cool Treat: Vanilla Caramel Gelato.  I would eat a lot-o this gelato.  You’re welcome for that wordplay.  I’m fun like that.

Favorite Car Cleaning Tips: Car Detailing-Tips & Tricks.  So our vehicle is neglected, it’s rarely clean.  First step, cleaning the vents with a sponge brush.  I could totally manage that.

Favorite Meal: Slow Cooker Barbecue Chicken Sandwiches with Skinny Slaw.  Just because it’s summertime doesn’t mean you can’t use your slow cooker.  Especially when you could make something delicious like this in it!

Favorite Fitness: Buh-Bye Bat Wings.  You would think that carrying around a dozen pounds of baby would get rid of my bat wings…but no such luck.  Better get my exercise on.

Favorite Cupcakes: Malted Milkshake Cupcakes with Choc-Malt Frosting.  Now those are some good looking cupcakes.

Favorite Jars: Taped Jars.  Well this is simple.  Recycle glass jars by prettying them up with some washi tape.  Simple and a great way to organize odds & ends.

Favorite Travel Tips: 18 Tips for Traveling with Baby.  Some of these tips are definitely going to be used this weekend…namely, setting up the room as soon as we get there.

Favorite Cute Dessert: Ice Cream Cone Cake Pops.  These would be great for a kid’s birthday party.  Like, maybe a one year old’s party.  Not that I’m already planning my 16 week old daughter’s birthday party.  I mean, that would be nuts.  I definitely wouldn’t do that.  Nope, not me.

Favorite Cute: Viral video a little girl who doesn’t want her baby brother to grow up.  Well if this isn’t the cutest thing, I don’t know what is.  Just a whole bucket of cute.

Happy Friday!!
