Ingredients
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup sugar
3-4 lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice)
6 oz. container of blackberries (save some for garnish, if desired)
2-3 cups water
Fresh sage leaves
Directions
Begin by making the simple syrup. Combine 1/4 cup water and 1/4 cup sugar in a small saucepan and bring to a boil over high heat. Simmer for 1 minute to allow the sugar to dissolve. Remove from heat and cool.
Once the simple syrup has cooled, add it to a blender with the lemon juice and blackberries. Puree until smooth. Now pour the mixture through a fine mesh strainer or cheese cloth into a glass container or pitcher. Squeeze to allow the juices to pass through. Add in 2-3 cups of water, depending on how watered down you like your lemonade.
When serving the lemonade, add a few fresh sage leaves to a glass and muddle them to release the flavor. Add a few ice cubes and pour the lemonade over the top. Garnish with more sage leaves, blackberries, or lemon slices. Enjoy!
