Friday Favorites

June 20, 2014 by Melissa

Happy Friday!  I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a nap.  Days are spent keeping Quinn busy and happy.  She is an active little lady, so we’re constantly switching between tummy time, reading, singing, dancing, eating, walking around, bouncing, burping, changing diapers, giggling, squishing cheeks, booping her nose, narrating everything, wiping drool off of everything, shaking toys in front of her face, just staring at her in amazement, and so on and so forth.  Fun but exhausting!

006edited Fotor062020428The most challenging thing we faced this week was finding out that Quinn has allergies.  Fortunately, she is happy and gaining weight like a champ.  I stopped eating dairy four weeks ago and have now been told to avoid soy and peanuts.  So yes, our little peanut might be allergic to peanuts.  After a short pity party, I started searching for recipes to feed my hungry self.  I tell you what, these restrictions make baking difficult but not impossible!  I’ve included a bunch of recipes in this week’s Friday Favorites that are friendly to my new diet.  If anyone has dairy, soy, and peanut-free recipes, I will gladly take them!  Do any of you out there have diet restrictions due to allergies?  Any tips?

Alright, let’s move on to the reason why you’re here…Friday Favorites!  Please enjoy my favorite things from around the web while I go grab that nap I mentioned earlier. 🙂

Favorite Stroller Helper: Neoprene Necessities Stroll Case.  This would be much easier than digging through my purse for my phone while trying to guide the stroller with one hand.  My one-handed stroller steering skills are lacking.

Favorite Ice Cream: Chunky Monkey Ice Cream Sandwiches (Vegan + Gluten Free + Raw Option).  I’ve been missing ice cream like crazy.  Thank heavens for this recipe!

Favorite Mini Bite: Mini Chocolate Fudge Cream Pies.  So this dessert doesn’t meet my new dietary needs, but I think with a few adjustments I could make it work.  It is way too tasty looking to pass up on!
