Peanut Butter Brownie Puppy Chow

February 27, 2014 by Melissa

What’s better than Puppy Chow, you ask?  Puppy Chow with brownies and peanut butter cups.  Like Puppy Chow needed to get any better…

Sorry the pictures aren’t great, I think I was too excited about eating it.

Peanut Butter Brownie Puppy Chow               Printer-Friendly Recipe

From: Your Cup of Cake

Ingredients

6 C. rice Chex cereal
1 C. milk chocolate melts or chips
1/2 C. peanut butter, creamy
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1 C. brownie mix, from the box
Optional (but highly recommended): Brownies, Reese’s Pieces, or Peanut butter cups (chopped)

Directions

Pour cereal into a large bowl; set aside.  Melt chocolate, peanut butter, and vanilla extract in a small bowl in the microwave until melted, about 30 seconds.  Stir until smooth and pour over the cereal.  Fold until evenly distributed.  Add in 1 cup of boxed brownie mix and mix until coated.  This would also work by shaking in a large plastic bag or in a pot with a lid over the top.  Now time for the add-ons, I added bite-sized pieces of brownies and cut up 10 mini Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups; toss together.  Eat and enjoy!

Make some brownies, prepare according to box directions or make homemade brownies. Let the brownies cool completely.

Stir until smooth. Don't overcook it like I did, then it ends up clumpy and kind of hard to work into the cereal. Microwave for 30 seconds and then check how it is. Stir and microwave for 10 seconds more, if needed.
