Happy Friday, folks! Today I’m thankful that we got above zero degrees: it’s a balmy 14 out as I type this. I’m also thankful that Josh’s grandparents are staying with us tonight on their way down to Arizona. That means I have a good reason to make a fresh batch of cinnamon rolls for breakfast tomorrow morning. The house smells so good right now! I’m going to focus on those good things instead of freaking out about tax season being here and not having our nursery set up yet. Deep breaths.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Let’s kick it off with my favorite things from around the interwebs in this week’s Friday Favorites!
***click on the red text to be led to the sources of my favoritesFavorite Cake: Easy 10 Minute Yogurt Cake. Only 10 minutes of prep to make this cake. I love recipes like this!
Favorite Food Storage Tip: How to store celery so it lasts longer. Wrap in paper towels and foil to get celery that will last 4 weeks in the fridge. Say goodbye to wimpy celery!
Favorite Pasta: Creamy Butternut Penne with Parmesan. Oh so creamy and delectable looking.
Favorite “I wish it was summer” DIY Project: DIY Outdoor Day Bed. Judging by the snow on the ground, freezing temps, and what Mr. Groundhog says, warmer weather is a far-off dream. But hey, a girl can dream.
Favorite Cookies: Double-Stuffed Cookie Dough Oreos. Who needs to buy limited edition Oreoes when the homemade version is soooo much better?
Favorite Home Idea: Place an electrical outlet in the fireplace mantel. A simple but brilliant idea. Light up that mantel without cords running all over the place!
Favorite Chips: Crispy Oven Baked Rosemary Pita Chips. I’ve been going pita crazy lately. My lunches this past week have been lettuce, tomato, & cucumber on hummus slathered pitas…yum! So I don’t get bored with that lunch, I think I should make these pita chips to switch things up.
Favorite List: Things To Do Before You’re Due. Only 67 more days until my due date and I’ve been making lists like crazy. Now I just need to get some things checked off those lists, that’s the hard part. From this list, I’ve only preregistered with the hospital. I guess I can cross off finalizing plans for kids & pets when we’re at the hospital (because we don’t have either). Two down, but I better get to work on the rest!
Favorite Breakfast: Cinnamon Raisin Baked Oatmeal Squares. Cereal for breakfast just isn’t cutting it for me anymore. These squares sound like they would be satisfying and delicious.
Favorite Footwear: Wicked Good Moccasins from L.L. Bean. I just got these slippers last month and have practically been living in them. Love them!!
Favorite Pie: Cranberry Pear Pie. It’s about this time of year that I really miss making fresh fruit pies. Cranberries and pears make great fruit fillings for winter-weather pies.
Favorite Helper: Address Return Label Stamp. As I’m writing thank-yous for my baby shower, I’m really wishing I had one of these bad boys!
Favorite Cupcakes: Carrot Cake Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Frosting. If you aren’t a fan of carrots, give this recipe a try. I’m pretty sure you’ll forget about the carrots when you’re sinking your teeth into that tower of cream cheese frosting…
Favorite Must-See TV: The 2014 Winter Olympics. The Olympics are here! I just love sitting on my couch watching athletes do their thing. Haha!
Weekly bump-date time! We have a cucumber this week, let’s just hope she doesn’t stay in long enough to become a pickle! Less than 10 weeks left…hooray!!
