Happy Friday and welcome to the New Year! I hope your 2014 is off to a great start and you’re excited for the year ahead. My year is off and running; I started some early spring cleaning that I hope to finish this weekend. Sadly, that means taking down the Christmas decorations…I hate that part. But, the sooner the rest of the house is in order the sooner we can get our nursery put together. I can’t wait to share the progress once we get started!
Whether or not you plan on cleaning like a maniac this weekend, I hope your weekend is full of fun and productivity! Let the fun begin with taking a look at my favorite things from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites.
***click on the red text to be led to the sources of my favoritesFavorite Cookie: No Bake Oatmeal Cookies with Cocoa and Peanut Butter. Maybe you’re sick of using your oven after a busy Christmas season (like me), but you’re not sick of eating cookies (like me). Solution to your problem: these no bake cookies!
Favorite Guest Tip: Combine all of your sample sized toiletries into one jar for guests. I have a drawer full of sample and travel sized toiletries that is annoying me. Time to bundle them together and put them in our guest bathroom!
Favorite Cool Treat: Frozen Greek Yogurt and Pomegranate Bites. It might be cold out, but that doesn’t mean that I will pass up frozen treats. These little bites look like the perfect treat to eat when the sun is shining brightly into our apartment every afternoon.
Favorite DIY for Nursery: How to Make an Easy Wooden Growth Chart. We are totally making one of these.
Favorite Drink: Detox Water. My drink of choice is water. Boring water gets a facelift with citrus, ginger, and mint that is anything but bland.
Favorite (Early) Spring Cleaning. 31 Ways to Seriously Deep Clean Your Home. You better believe I will be putting a majority of these tips to good use.
Favorite Bite: S’mores Brownie Cheesecake Bites. Swoon-worthy dessert.
Favorite Forgotten Workout: Chin Workout. Now this is one workout I won’t fail at. Bye-bye turkey neck!
Favorite Breakfast: Strawberry Eggnog Baked French Toast. Use up that leftover ‘nog for a delicious breakfast.
Favorite Cleaning Tip: How to Clean Water Marks Off of Suede Shoes. My suede boots got some serious water damage last year that I’ve been far too lazy to fix. I also had no idea how to clean them until now. Did you know you can fight the water damage with water??
Favorite Cake: Yellow Butter Cake with Chocolate Frosting. Sometimes all you need is a classic cake. Yum!
Favorite NY Resolution: Gorgeous Skin. I don’t usually make resolutions for the New Year, but I have to say that this might be the year I need to do just that. My skin has always been a problem, but I’m part of the problem. I have a ton of facial cleansers including most of the Proactiv line, I just don’t have a good skin regimen. Time to change that!!
Favorite Snack: Barbecued Peanuts. Snacks during football games are a must and these BBQ nuts will fit the bill.
Favorite Inspiration: Babies Ruin Bodies. I’ve seen this blogger’s post floating around Facebook all week and, I must say, it is beautifully and honestly written. Definitely something that I will remember in the months to come.
Here’s what’s happening with my bump this week:
Happy Friday!
