Puppy Chow

November 21, 2013 by Melissa

Do you call it Puppy Chow or Muddy Buddies?  I’ve always called it Puppy Chow, but I don’t really care what you call it when it tastes this good.  Puppy Chow is definitely an easy oldie but a goodie.  Throw in your favorite candy to make even more spectacular.  I put Peanut Butter M&Ms in part of it…CRAZY GOOD.  The baby must have liked it because Josh & I felt an unmistakable kick right after I ate it.  Just another excuse for me to eat more of it, right? 🙂

From the back of the cereal box 🙂

Ingredients

9 cups of Rice Chex Cereal
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/4 cup butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

Directions

Measure the cereal in an extra-large bowl and set aside.  In a medium-sized microwavable bowl, microwave the chocolate chips, peanut butter, and butter on high for 1 minute.  Stir and then heat for an additional 30 seconds.  Stir in the vanilla until the mixture is smooth.  Pour over the cereal and stir to evenly coat.  Add in the powdered sugar and fold until evenly coated.  Spread the puppy chow out on parchment paper and let cool.  Store in an airtight container in the fridge.  Enjoy!

Throw in the powdered sugar and fold to coat evenly. This can also be done in a 2-gallon freezer bag, but I found this method worked nicely.
