Hmmm, Pickles + Ice Cream, what could that mean? Let me help you out, I’M PREGNANT!!!! (I’m just gonna go ahead and apologize now for the number of exclamation points used in this post) Josh & I are expecting our first baby on April 15th!!!! We are overjoyed that this is finally happening and can’t wait to become parents!! In the last week we’ve started telling family and friends, and let me tell you, it feels wonderful letting our little secret loose. 🙂 Here’s how we shared the news with our parents and my sisters:
Needless to say, everyone was really excited to get these peanut packages in the mail!
Now that I’ve reached the second trimester, I’m starting to feel better and am looking forward to actually having an appetite and a little more energy. I have no idea why it’s called morning sickness when it lasts all day. Not. Cool. So that’s the real reason why my posts have been few and far between lately. I avoided stepping into our kitchen for about a month because of my newly acquired super-human sense of smell (not a super power I would ever choose, btw) and had a hard time even looking at food on the Internet. Times are a-changin’ though and I’m feeling more like myself again. Thus far I haven’t had any strange cravings like eating pickles and ice cream together, but that didn’t stop me from eating them together after I took these photos. I mean, they were just right in front of my face. 🙂
Here’s a link to the 48-Hour Fridge Pickles I made. They are wonderfully crisp and have some spice to them, yum!
Here’s a link to the Chocolate Pudding Ice Cream recipe I used. The ice cream is super creamy and delightful. I prefer mine with marshmallows on top.
I will post some baby bump photos along the way. I’m starting to show a little, but it still just looks like a food baby and not a baby baby. 🙂

Congratulations!! I’m not sure why it’s called morning sickness either. Had it 24/7 for several months. Yek didn’t enjoy that part at all. Grandma Nussbaum
