Friday Favorites

March 23, 2013 by Melissa

Hi readers.  I don’t know how you all feel about my blog, but let me tell you how I feel about you.  I appreciate each and every one of you and I think you’re swell to listen to my ramblings. 🙂  This blog has been such a joy to me.  After a really long and emotional week, I contemplated not doing a Friday Favorites today, but then I remembered the whole point of these weekly posts is to put aside everything else and just have fun for a few minutes.  And don’t we all need a little fun?

Speaking of fun, seeing the bottom of my tax season countdown jars has me pretty giddy right now…

Only 24 days left!

Happy day to you, my friends, and please enjoy my weekly roundup of favorites in this week’s Friday Favorites.

Favorite Cupcakes: Easy Turquoise & Pink Fun Dip Cupcakes.  Fun Dip, the candy from my childhood that left me wondering why I was allowed to shovel sugar into my mouth with a sugar stick.  I didn’t ask out-loud though, I’m not foolish, I just continued shoveling.  These cupcakes are a must bake!

Favorite Bracket: Best College Eats Bracket.  Now this is my kind of March Madness Bracket.  I will take one of everything, please, so that I can make a well-informed decision.

Favorite Appetizers: Buffalo Pickle Chips.  Didn’t you hear, fried pickles are all the rage.  Combine them with the flavor of spicy buffalo sauce and you’ve got a snack that’s sure to be a winner.

Favorite Fitness: Lazy Woman’s Fitness.  As I was putting away files and dancing around my office like a nerd yesterday (thank goodness I work from home) I realized that it was probably the most I’d moved around all week.  Sad life of an accountant chained to her desk 24/7.  So I am glad I found these Lazy Woman’s Fitness workouts that I can easily do in my office or around the house.  Pictured below is the Better-Than-Nothing Arm Toner Workout.

Favorite Lemon Savers: 5 Ideas for preserving Meyer Lemons (or regular lemons).  I’m going to have to remember this once summer is coming to a close.  It would be fantastic to have the burst of flavor from Meyer Lemons in the middle of winter.

Favorite Sandals: Deb’s Flat Sandals with Metal Plated Detail in Coral.  My feet are itching (not literally) to get into sandals, especially some poppy ones like these.

Favorite Kitchen: Ever wonder what Ree’s (A.K.A. The Pioneer Woman) kitchen looks like?  I did, so I looked it up.  Major kitchen envy.  Perfect kitchen or the best kitchen ever?  I can’t decide.

Favorite Chicken: Chicken-Fried Chicken.  Not to be confused with chicken-fried steak, which I am embarrassed to say, took a loooooooong time for me to realize that it was made out of steak.  I thought it was some sort of mystery meat.  Sometimes I’m really quick.  I’ll stick with chicken-fried chicken, I’ve always know what meat that is made with.

Favorite Treats: Carrot Cake Rice Krispy Treats.  Fantastic idea!  Btw, this blogger’s site is dedicated solely to Rice Krispy Treats, how amazing is that?!

Favorite Cheap Craft: Stick Letters.  Future decoration for our future cabin in the mountains, mark it down.  This one’s even the right letter!

Favorite Frosting: Berry Buttercream Frosting.  Forget cake, I just want a big dollop of this frosting.

Favorite Skirt: DIY Skirt.  Fabric, elastic, thread, and four seams is all that’s standing between me and these cute skirts!

Favorite Funny:  Ain’t this the truth.  P.S. I loved watching Bob Ross on PBS when I was a kid.

When I start getting antsy for spring.  I just want to

Thanks for listing my rice krispy treats as a favorite! I pretty much love this whole list! Sorry life is rough right now, my husband is an accountant too… don’t think I’ve seen him the past 2 months now, ha ha 😉
