Well this week sure flew by, now didn’t it? We had a midweek blast of snow, that is now sadly melting away. I wish we could take a little bit of the snow away from other parts of the country that are being pummeled by snow. Stay safe if you’re in those areas!
While delightfully watching snow fall this week, I was able to chip away at more tax returns and make more progress with my Countdown Jars!
Aside from the snow and taxes, I have some exciting news! No, not that kind of news (I know where our families heads are at). I taught myself how to knit last Sunday!! Well, it bears some resemblance to knitting. So far I’ve only mastered lumpy/holey squares and rectangles. It’s a work in progress. I need to buy a book and more yarn, maybe that will help. So watch out Michaels, I’m coming armed with my debit card, a coupon, and the desire to master knitting this weekend!
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend! Happy Friday, please enjoy my favorite things from around the web!

Favorite Cookies: Butterfinger Monster Cookies. Smashing idea.
Favorite Rings: DIY Button Statement Rings. Fabulous! Now, to hunt down some funky buttons…
Favorite Appetizer: Mini Lasagna Cups. Now this is an easy and impressive recipe for a party. And so much easier than making the real thing.
Favorite Pattern: Five Classic Knit Pillow Designs ePattern. I told you last week that I’m searching for pillows for our bed. These knit pillows might be the solution! Granted, my knitting skills need major improvement before I tackle this project, but it’s a goal!
Favorite Drink: Hot Cocaccino. You’re kidding me with this, right? There’s drool running down my face.
Favorite Organization Idea: $5 Ribbon Organizer. Where has this idea been my whole life?
Favorite Breakfast: Monkey Bread. This recipe is like a cinnamon roll and donut hole all rolled in to one. I just love monkey bread so much, it takes me back to my youth. Sigh.
Favorite Sandal: Yaneli by DV by Dolce Vita. Forget the snow outside, it’s time to sandal shop. Soon enough I can bring my feet out of hiding. These puppies need a lot of help before they’ll be suitable for sandals. Yikes.
Favorite Pasta: Bacon Feta Macaroni and Cheese. Kraft Mac & Cheese has NOTHING on this recipe. Absolutely nothing.
Favorite Kitchen Tips: 22 KitchenAid Stand Mixer Tips and Troubleshooting Help. My mixer has done wonders for me in the kitchen. That thing has gotten a lot of use, so this collection of tips is much appreciated. Especially the draping a towel over the bowl when mixing flour to prevent a cloud of flour dust tip. Me and flour are a mess waiting to happen.
Favorite Cupcake: Caramel Popcorn Cupcakes. Shut up. These are adorable. Maybe instead of making a big bowl of popcorn for my Oscar watching, I should make these instead!
Favorite Music: I feel like I might be late to the party on this one, but after seeing the lead singer of the Alabama Shakes help out with the tribute to Levon Helm at the Grammys a couple of weeks ago and then seeing the whole band perform on SNL last weekend, I am loving the Alabama Shakes! I’ve been listening to them on repeat on Spotify all week. So good.

Favorite Cheesecake: Chocolate Peanut Butter Cheesecake. This is some seriously swoon-worthy cheesecake.
Favorite Mug: Anthropologie’s Ayaka Mug. Random coffee mugs and tea cups make me happy for some odd reason. These colorful mugs from Anthro are beauties.
Favorite Sandwich: Croque Monsieur. This sandwich looks downright tasty. I’ve had a Monte Cristo before, but never a Croque Monsieur. I’m not entirely sure what the difference is, but I’m willing to eat both, that’s all I know. 🙂
Favorite Font: Learn how to create fake calligraphy. I’ve always wanted fancy handwriting. My handwriting is large and not the least bit fancy. My cursive handwriting is atrocious.
Favorite Foodie Dessert: Vanilla Panna Cotta with Pomegranate. I watch my fair share of food shows (Top Chef is my favorite) and have noticed that Panna Cotta is a popular dessert item. I think it’s high time I try making it at home!
Favorite Funny/Ok, here’s my money: First of all, please please please noooooooo spoiler alerts about last week’s season finale of Downton Abbey. Me and Josh are trying to get caught up. You can scream spoilers all you want at your computer, I’ve got my ears covered for safe measure.
Happy Friday!
