Friday Favorites

October 19, 2012 by Melissa

Happy Friday and Happy 5th Birthday to my beautiful niece, Ruby!!  That little girl brings so much laughter, energy, and joy to our family, I love her to pieces.  🙂  I’m hoping to Skype into her birthday party on Sunday so I can still be a part of the day from 600+ miles away.

Tomorrow promises to be a quiet day at home and I must say I’m really looking forward to it.  It’s the first Saturday in a long time that we don’t have plans, which means I can finally watch the Hawkeyes play (I haven’t watched a full game since their first one against Northern Illinois).  This low-key weekend should be a nice one.  You’ll be happy to know that a quiet weekend also means a weekend full of baking, so you can bet on a bunch of new recipes heading your way!  I hope you all have a great weekend, whether it’s busy or quiet. 🙂  Now, please enjoy my weekly roundup of favorites from around the interwebs.

Favorite Use of Halloween Candy: Reese’s Peanut Butter White Chocolate Bark.  Just when you thought Reese’s Pieces couldn’t get any better….

Favorite DIY iPhone Case: I still don’t have a case for my iPhone.  I don’t know why I procrastinate on things like that.  By some miracle I haven’t smashed the poor thing in the couple of months I’ve had it.  When I saw this FANTASTIC DIY cell phone case, I knew the time had come for me to finally protect my cellular telephone (yes, that is what I called it).

Favorite Bread: Garlic Parmesan Knots.  Imagine these dipped in a steaming bowl of soup.  Yummmm.

Favorite Fashion:  How cozy does this look?  I. want. this.

Favorite Pasta: Autumn Vegetable Pasta.  This pasta dish sounds creamy and delicious!

Favorite Workout:  One-Song Workouts.  No more making the excuse that I don’t have time to workout.  Pretty sure I have 3-4 minutes I can spare.

Favorite Cookie:  Cookie Mix in a Jar.  I’m always on the lookout for treats that I can mail to people.  Great idea!

Favorite Punkins:  Hilarious.  I will be making these little cuties for Halloween.  Mine will have googly/silly eyes instead.  I scare easily.

Favorite Make Your Own Take-Out: General Tso’s Chicken.  I’ve been resisting the urge pick up the phone and order Chinese delivery all week.  It would be waaaayyy better to make my own at home, don’t you think?

Favorite Hair:  How to fix your hair in a messy French bun.  Cute, eh?

Favorite Breakfast: Baked Apple Doughnuts.  Don’t mind if I do.  I bet they would be fantastic dunked in a hot cup of caffeine coffee.

Favorite Fall Footwear:  I ♥ boots.  Aren’t these little booties adorable?

Favorite Football Food: Macaroni and Cheese Baked Cheese Balls.  You cannot be serious!  I want to make these immediately.

Favorite Couples Costume Ideas:  Babe the Blue Ox and Paul Bunyan.  This wouldn’t be too hard to put together and I think it’s hilarious!

Favorite Comfort Food: Biscuit Topped Chicken Pot Pie.  Don’t expect me to stop posting Chicken Pot Pie Recipes on Friday Favorites anytime soon.  I have a weakness for pot pie.  How am I supposed to resist a pot pie recipe with BISCUITS on the top?  It’d be rude to not share it with you.

Favorite Kitchen Must:  How do I not own a cookie jar?!

Favorite Drink: Truffle Hot Chocolate Balls.  I printed this recipe over a year ago and still haven’t tried it!  Wouldn’t this be a cute Christmas present?

Favorite Clothes Saver:  How to unshrink clothing.  I sure have a few pairs of pants that could use some saving!

Favorite Double-Duty Meal:  Lentils and Sausage Soup re-purposed for Stuffed Peppers.  I usually make full batches of recipes, which means we end up eating the same meal all week.  It gets a little boring.  This recipe turns one night’s soup into the next night’s stuffed peppers.  Genius!

No matter if some one searches for his essential thing, therefore he/she desires to be available that in detail, therefore that
    thing is maintained over here.

Hello there! This blog post couldn’t be written much
better! Going through this article reminds me of my
previous roommate! He always kept preaching about this.
I’ll forward this post to him. Pretty sure
he’ll have a very good read. I appreciate you for sharing!
