Chocolate Cookies N’ Cream Fudge

October 17, 2012 by Melissa

Hello, all!  How’s your week going?  Do you need chocolate?  Well I sure hope you said yes, because that’s what I’m here for!  Introducing Chocolate Cookies N’ Cream Fudge.  A creamy, intensely chocolatey slice of fudge dotted with Oreo chunks.  If you dig fudge, you’re reeeaaally gonna love this recipe.

Ingredients

1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into 1/2-inch pieces, at room temperature
2 tablespoons cocoa powder
8 Oreo cookies, roughly chopped (I used Double Stuff)

Directions

Prepare an 8×8″ baking pan by lining it with foil. Set aside.

Combine the condensed milk, vanilla, chocolate chips, and butter in a medium bowl. Bring a saucepan of water to a boil and place the medium bowl with the ingredients over it. The mixture will begin to melt, continue until it is completely melted and smooth, 6-8 minutes and stirring occasionally.

Remove bowl from the top of the saucepan and stir in chopped Oreos and cocoa powder. Use a spatula to scrape the mixture into the prepared pan. Smooth over the top with the back of the spatula. Place pan in refrigerator for 2 hours, until firm.

Remove from fridge and turn the fudge out of the pan and remove foil. Slice the fudge into desired size-squares. Store in an airtight container in the fridge (or you can freeze them if you are making them ahead of time). Enjoy!

Combine the condensed milk, vanilla, chocolate chips, and butter in a glass or heat-proof bowl.

Place the bowl on a pot of simmering water and heat until ingredients are melted together, about 6 minutes.

Chop up 8 Oreos.

Add Oreos and cocoa powder to your melted chocolate mixture.

Stir to combine.

Pour the mixture into a foil-lined 8×8 baking pan. Smooth over the top.

Refrigerate for at least 2 hours.  I cut around the outside to clean up the edges.

Cut into (uneven…whoops) small squares.

Serve and enjoy
