Howdy! I wanted to pop in to share some pictures from the fun trip I took last weekend and an easy dessert I made for my adventure. Last Thursday through Sunday I was in the Black Hills with my parents, sisters, brother-in-law, and nieces. It was a blast! A quick trip that was jam-packed with fun. 🙂 So take a look at some of the pictures I took and also make sure to check out the recipe for S’mores Pudding Jars at the bottom of the post!
The following pictures are from our visit to Tatanka, outside of Deadwood. I highly recommend visiting here if you’re in the area. There was a great presentation by a woman named Melissa, she shared with us the story of the Bison and some history of American Natives. After the presentation, we checked out the large bronze sculptures of 14 bison being pursued by 3 Native American Horseback Riders. It is a wonderful place! Here’s a quote from Kevin Costner at the opening of Tatanka:
“I believe today that this place is bigger than the dream I had for it. What it means to anyone that will come here will be up to them. Tatanka was not designed as the white man’s version of the Native American. Rather it stands as a centerpiece for two cultures, one whose very lives depended on the buffalo and one who saw it as a means to an end. It recognizes and accepts that this is our mutual history. It can also represent the chance to move forward.” Kevin Costner, Grand Opening Speech
Now onto a fun recipe! I made these S’mores Pudding Jars to bring with me to the Black Hills. They were a fantastic treat! Super simple & tasty…just the way I like to cook when I’m on vacation! Sorry I didn’t take a lot of pictures.

Prepare the pudding mix by mixing together with the milk until blended. Place in fridge for 5 minutes to chill.
Spoon half of the graham crackers into the bottom of your serving dishes. Now spoon the pudding over the top, then top with the remaining graham crackers. Top with marshmallows. Broil for a minute or two until the marshmallows are toasted. Serve and enjoy!
