Friday Favorites

July 6, 2012 by Melissa

Hope you had a fabulous Fourth of July!  We had a fun day with a couple of friends, grilling out at our house.  Now it’s Friday and I feel like such a slacker, I only worked 3 days this week!  I’m excited for this weekend because we are celebrating our 5th Anniversary and Josh’s 27th Birthday tomorrow, so it should be a lovely weekend. 🙂  Hope you all have a great weekend!  Here are my favorite things from around the web in this week’s Friday Favorites!

Favorite Breakfast:  I want these donuts.  Now!

Favorite Outfit:I’m loving this look, especially the dress and bracelets.  The shoes, purse, and sunglasses are way over my budget, but I bet I could find less expensive alternatives to achieve this look.

Favorite Appetizer:  I found this recipe for Turkey Avocado Roll-Ups yesterday and my stomach started growling.  Light, healthy, and delicious, I must make these soon!

Favorite Flowers:  I’m really digging the green/yellow/brown color combo in this floral arrangement.  This arrangement was made for only $7!!

Favorite Buns:  Get your mind out of the gutter, not those kind of buns!  Homemade Pretzel Rolls that can be used as hamburger buns!  One of our favorite restaurants in Charlottesville, Beer Run, serves pretzel buns and I love them!  Now that we don’t live there, I better learn how to make my own.

Favorite Hair: Braid = Headband.  I love this look!

Favorite Cake: Tiramisu Cake, you look so good.  Oh, this is making me hungry…how ’bout you?

Favorite Side:  I’ve never made anything with Quinoa, but I really want to.  I think this Quinoa Salad with tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and fresh herbs looks like a good recipe to start with!

Favorite DIY Wreath:  Cute, right?!  Plus, this wreath would look good in multiple seasons.

Favorite Drink:  Homemade lemonade.  I’ve never made lemonade, I think I might make some this weekend!

Favorite Vacation:  We went to Snowmass for our honeymoon almost 5 years ago 🙂  Such a gorgeous place!

Favorite Meal:  Buffalo Chicken Burgers.  These look awesome!

Favorite Earrings:  These earrings can be made out of duct tape.  That’s right, you heard me, DUCT TAPE!

Favorite Cupcakes: Mini Strawberry Lemonade Cupcakes.  Absolutely adorable.

Favorite Tart:   These Apricot Cream Tarts are so pretty.  Our grocery store has some pretty good smelling apricots, I guess I better make this…

Favorite Foot Fixer:  It’s July and my feet still aren’t as flip-flop ready as they should be; I think this homemade Lemon Sugar Scrub will do the trick.  I like sugar scrubs because they are more gentle than salt scrubs…something I learned back in my Bath & Body Works days 🙂

Favorite Treat: I know I’ve told you this before, but I LOVE S’mores.  I have an embarrassingly large collection of S’more recipes that I want to try…this is one of them 🙂

Favorite Funny:  Maybe this is why I used to liked Ramen so much!  JT should probably bring this look back…

Happy Friday!!
